Call “AI Innovation Competition – Generative AI for SMEs”

New call for funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)

The aim of the BMWK’s new call for funding is to create the conditions for the use of generative AI in companies and the public sector and to demonstrate added value based on concrete solutions in relevant fields of application, e.g. in knowledge management, marketing and consulting services.

The AI innovation competition primarily focuses on the interests, needs and opportunities of small and medium-sized enterprises. The funded projects should provide impetus for the successful and productive use of generative AI and demonstrate a wide range of application examples that favour the broadest possible transfer and imitation effects in the technology landscape.

The funding call focuses on the further development, adaptation and implementation of (existing) generative AI models as well as the collection, processing and provision of the necessary data sets. Preference is to be given to German or European models; the (new/further) development of basic models is not envisaged.

Outlines must be submitted for the application by 8 April 2024 (12:00 noon).
