Competence platform and KI.NRW flagship projects with AI Experience Area at the NRW joint booth
From 31 March to 4 April 2025, one of the most important international industrial trade fairs will take place – the Hannover Messe. This year, the North Rhine-Westphalian Competence Platform for Artificial Intelligence (KI.NRW) will be taking part for the first time. Together with the three KI.NRW flagship projects ‘Cyber Production Management Lab’ (CPML), ‘Datenfabrik.NRW’ and ‘ZERTIFIZIERTE KI’, the experts will be presenting AI solutions and possible applications of artificial intelligence for companies using exhibits, demonstrators and presentations. The trade fair appearance is part of the joint booth of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) in Hall 7, Booth A28, which has the overarching topic of ‘AI in Industry’.
How is the AI ecosystem in NRW organised? How can the digital and sustainable transformation of industrial companies be advanced? What impact does artificial intelligence have on production and logistics? And how can companies make their AI systems secure and trustworthy? Visitors to the trade fair will find answers to these and other questions relating to ‘AI in industry’ at the KI.NRW exhibition area and the three KI.NRW flagship projects CPML, Datenfabrik.NRW and ZERTIFIZIERTE KI.
“The industry is facing particular challenges due to the current difficult economic situation, high energy prices and the lack of skilled labour. ‘AI made in NRW’ can help here and provide reliable solutions for companies, for example to optimise capacity utilisation, forecasting or intelligent route planning. In view of the current global political developments, it is important that we strengthen smart solutions from Europe right now and thus secure our technological sovereignty. We are therefore delighted to be present with KI.NRW and our AI lighthouse projects at such an important industrial trade fair as the one in Hanover. We are thus creating visibility for the North Rhine-Westphalian AI ecosystem far beyond the borders of our federal state and Germany,” says Dr Christian Temath, Managing Director of KI.NRW.
AI for industry: KI.NRW informs, advises and mediates
In Hall 7, Booth A28, experts from the competence platform and the KI.NRW flagship projects will provide insights into the North Rhine-Westphalian AI ecosystem as well as specific AI solutions, information and consulting services specifically for industrial companies. Demonstrators and exhibits will allow visitors to experience and understand the potential applications of artificial intelligence. In addition, experts from KI.NRW and the flagships will present the benefits of AI for industry in specialist lectures. These will take place on 31 March as part of the ‘AI in Industry’ focus day on the stage right next to the KI.NRW trade fair booth.
Together with KI.NRW, the following projects will be on site with their offerings:
- Cyber Production Management Lab: Quality improvement, predictive maintenance and digital twins in industrial production
How the quality of products can be improved with the help of AI (predictive quality) or how machines can be maintained predictively (predictive maintenance) are just two of the topics that the Cyber Production Management Lab will be providing information on at the Hannover Messe. A demonstration cell will be available for this purpose at the trade fair booth. There will also be a focus on the creation and application of digital twins in industrial production. - Datenfabrik.NRW: AI in the production and logistics of tomorrow
What will the digitalised, AI-supported production and logistics of tomorrow look like? Datenfabrik.NRW answers these and other questions about the data-driven factory of the future. Using a demonstrator that uses Lego bricks to recreate the factory of the future, visitors to the trade fair will playfully learn about AI use cases from an industrial context. For example, the use of data analyses and the automation of intelligent systems in production will be presented. - ZERTIFIZIERTE KI: The use of trustworthy AI in industry
AI solutions for industry in particular must be powerful, trustworthy and secure if they are to be used in series production or quality control, for example. Visitors to the trade fair will therefore discover solutions and exhibits on this topic at the ZERTIFIZIERTE KI booth. They will learn from the AI experts how to ensure technical reliability in production. They can also try out test tools for testing AI models to uncover weak points. The focus will also be on how the AI Act helps to increase the quality and trustworthiness of AI.
The trade fair is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The experts from KI.NRW and the Flagships are looking forward to your visit! As an exhibitor, KI.NRW provides free e-tickets, which you are welcome to retrieve. To receive your e-ticket by e-mail, please follow this link and start the registration of your login data.
